Get wet and wild on Caribbean holidays

Waterbabies may wish to choose holidays in the Caribbean this year following the opening of a new water park on the island of Aruba.

Morgan’s Island is the biggest park of its kind in the Caribbean and only opened to the public on December 5th.

However, it looks set to become really popular thanks to a whole host of (terrifying sounding) rides that offer thrill seekers plenty to write home about.

For instance, Dragon Revenge incorporates what the island’s tourist board describes as “heart-stopping” waterslides, as well as toboggan rides – in water, we assume, not snow.

And coming soon is Buccaneer Tower, which will drop those brave enough to venture on it 21 feet vertically, making it the tallest free-fall waterslide in the world.

Just make sure you’ve got your bikini securely fastened for that oneā€¦

When you’ve recovered after such hair-raising rides (and recovered your keys from the bottom of the pool), there’s also the Black Pearl restaurant to replenish your energy levels.

In October, a spokesperson for the Association of Independent Tour Operators said that the Caribbean is a popular destination for Brits heading abroad at Christmas because it is warm, but celebrates in much the same way as we do.
