Relationship troubles? Try an adventure holiday!

Anyone who fears they may be stuck in a rut when it comes to their long-term relationship may be interested in the advice of a marriage guidance counsellor from the US.

Marilyn Barnicke Belleghem told America’s Hitched magazine that taking an adventure holiday together could be just the thing to help regain the spark that everyday life can tarnish.

She pointed out that going to a place where holidaymakers may not even speak the same language could help to bring couples together and to draw closer together in order to carry out tasks.

“People who live together get into set ways to do things. New experiences through travelling together force us out of our comfort zone so stagnation stays at bay,” Ms Belleghem stated.

In addition, she said, the holiday will give people something to talk about long after the plane touches back down at home because they can relive the memories together.

Anyone on the lookout for an adventure holiday could try a safari holiday in Dubai, which Ian Scott, director of the government of Dubai’s department of tourism and commerce marketing, said is getting increasingly popular.

Wadi-bashing (exploring the dry, sandy river beds) is one activity holidaymakers in Dubai can undertake, while sandskiing is another.

Have you had a similar experience to this with your partner while on holiday? We’d love to hear from you if you have!
