Take in a summer concert in South Africa

People going on holidays to South Africa from late December until early April may be lucky enough to catch a performance as part of the Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts.

The mammoth event will incorporate dozens of acts from all over the world, including a special New Year’s Eve performance by popular electronica act Goldfish.

Located within the botanical gardens, Kirstenbosch is approximately eight miles south of Cape Town, making it a great idea for a day trip for people holidaying in the city.

Concerts will run every Sunday, but are very popular, so anyone hoping to go should get there early, uncoverthecape.co.za suggests.

“The Kirstenbosch Concerts have a special feel to them mainly due to the breathtaking setting. Part of the charm also lies in the warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere,” the site adds.

RTE Money recently suggested that our winter could be an ideal time to take holidays to South Africa, because this coincides with their summer and it will be in festival and party mood.

In addition, there is no jet lag to contend with, as the country is in the same time zone as Britain.
