How Safe Is The Hurricane Season?

With the Caribbean, Mexico, parts of Florida and the Texan coast officially in the hurricane season, it is important to know whether it’s safe to travel and what safety precautions to take. It’s unlikely that a major hurricane is going to strike, although prevention is better than cure, and so in order to stay safe during the hurricane season, we’ve outlined the islands with the lowest risk!

The chance that a major hurricane could hit is quite slim it is always important to know the islands with the lowest risk if your heart is set on a Caribbean holiday.

The threat of a hurricane, in the Caribbean, varies from island to island. Bermuda has the greatest risk; annually, there is a one in four chance of being hit by a hurricane! The west is less likely to be effected than the east and the safest option is the south. Aruba, Barbados, Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago, are rarely hit.

Hurricanes have had high activity since 2005; this trend is set to continue until 2015, although direct hits are rare.
